About
Kilmington History Group (KHG) was formed in 2022 by a small group of resident volunteers who share the common goal of collecting, digitally archiving and preserving historical material relating to the village. The overall ambition is to protect our important historical legacy.
KHG has created thousands of digital archives, many of which are now accessible to the public for their own interest and research, but it will always be a growing database.
Additionally, KHG is engaged in various community activities intended to generate interest and engagement in Kilmington's heritage. Please look out for forthcoming articles and presentations.
And this is where the KHG needs your help. If anyone has any information or documents that they would be happy to share, either privately or publicly, then please contact us. We’d be delighted to hear from you and many people, now and in the future, will be glad that you did.
In particular, we are looking for old photographs and historical deeds but also anything else of historical value. Perhaps you are visiting our website from overseas and have ancestors who once lived here? Or perhaps you live locally and have an interesting anecdote which should not be forgotten? Perhaps you have created an important family tree with roots here?
We would also be delighted to hear from anyone who is undertaking any historical research relating to Kilmington, or its past residents, and we encourage them to contact us so that we can share information. It is also possible that we can help!
